After being cornered by Splashmon Darkness Mode 2 and covered by dark miasma, Tai's determination to free his partner allows MetalGreymon to overcome the miasma's poison and turn it into power resulting in his Mode Change to MetalGreymon Alterous Mode. As a result, the miasma that had covered him transforms into an arm cannon, his Positron Blaster, that MetalGreymon uses to destroy Splashmon.
