Mackenzie King worked in Labour Relations before becoming Prime Minister. He was Canada's first Deputy Minister of Labour, then Minister of Labour. He worked as the mediator for employers and employees. He also wrote the influential book known as Industry and Humanity.

The King-Byng Affair

1926 King had requested to dissolve Parliament, and Governor General Lord Byng refused. The King-Byng Affair helped define Canada's independence from Britain.
